Hunting for giant beetles

I was out with another student who where searching for ekoxar (stag beetles I think they are called in english) for her work. The stag beetles are rare in Sweden and it was fun to se (and hold) one!

But first a photo I like from that same evening; Some swallows sitting on some telephone lines.



Here are two of the beetles we found, one male and one female. The composition of the photos aren't very good but they are still pretty nice because of the beetles.

Neither one of them are very big for being stag beetles but it was still pretty amazing!

Long break over...

It's been a long break from posting photos but now it's time to begin again (I'll try at least). Starting with some sturdy iron rings i found stuck in the rock outside of Ringhals (one of Swedens nuclear powerplants):

I fond this worm in the woods during todays last field-exercize.

Then on my way home I took a look in the botanical garden springflower-collection and took a few photos. I will return some day when there is some better lighting. Here are two of all the flowers:
